The most underrated Dead Rising game is less than £5/$5 on Steam

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Christmas is just a few days away. So what time to mark the seasons by slaughtering the living dead in the most underrated Dead Rising game of all time, now less than £5/$5 on Steam?
I don’t mean Dead Rising 4. While it’s similarly discounted and is literally set during Christmas, it’s still a little disappointing. Aside from giving us a very different Frank West, it dialled down zombie variety, removed the ability to throw any object and felt like a step back from previous games.
No, I’m talking about Dead Rising 3: Apocalypse Edition which, while it proved a little divisive with fans, is a brilliant, open-world zombie killing game? It sets you loose on the city of Los Perdidos, with a massive range of shops and districts to explore.
In short, if you can think of an object, you can find it in Dead Rising 3 and fling it at the walking dead. Then there are the cars you can find modify, the trademark psychopaths who prove far more troublesome than the run of the mill shamblers, and much, much more. There’s even a surprise cameo from… well, that’d be spoiling it.
It’s been a long time since I’ve played the game from beginning to end but I dip into it at least a couple of times a month. With so much on offer, it’s a brilliant, blood-spattered way of letting off some steam.

Speaking of Steam, Dead Rising 2 and Off the Record are also heavily discounted on the storefront, down to just £3.99. The original game isn’t on sale but Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is half price. So, if you’ve yet to experience DR 3, which includes all the PC DLC, snag it from Steam before January 5th.
