The Lost Wild is Annapurna Interactive’s answer to Jurassic Park, out in 2027

Dinosaur fans assemble: there’s a new dino game on the horizon, and it looks excellent. In development by new studio Great Ape Games and published by Annapurna Interactive, The Lost Wild is a survival horror game that sees you fight to escape deadly prehistoric predators on a mysterious island. There’s no InGen in sight, but what we’ve seen so far of The Lost Wild gives us serious Jurassic Park vibes.
Immersion and cinematic visuals are at the heart of The Lost Wild, which sees you play as Saskia. She’s just woken up on a mysterious island that’s home to a host of dinosaurs – the kind that are out to tear her limb from limb. Stealth and evasion are a must here, then, and as Saskia, you’ll need to explore abandoned research facilities in order to find the key to escaping the island.
You’ll need to observe your predators in order to outsmart them: according to Great Ape Games, key to survival is learning about their behaviour and anticipating their movement patterns. There’s no one set path through the game: you can strive to discover hidden routes to keep yourself safe, or you can use stealth to stay out of sight.
Despite this being a survival horror, it’s not the type of game where you’ll be going toe-to-toe with dinosaurs. Let’s face it; you don’t stand a chance in a fight against a T-rex. Instead, you’ll find useful items to help you survive, and use non-lethal weaponry to temporarily scare off potential predators. You’ll also be able to use the environment to your advantage.
There’s no release date for The Lost Wild yet, but it’s slated to release in 2027, when it’ll launch on PS5 and PC. We’ve no doubt that there’s plenty more to learn about it before then, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for further announcements. Until then, watch the trailer below.
