IO Interactive and Amazon MGM have revealed that 007 First Light has reached a major milestone. Having launched on 26th May, it’s reached sales of four million in just three months, making it one of the best-selling titles of 2026. Having called it “everything you could want from a Bond game” in our review, we think it’s very well deserved.

Currently available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, 007 First Light lets you take control of a younger, inexperienced Bond, who’s just been recruited into MI6’s training program. Leveraging IO Interactive’s years of working on the Hitman series, it blends stealth with action-packed set-pieces, and incorporates new mechanics such as a very enjoyable combat system and fun social engineering. We think it’s one of the best games of the year.

A delay meant that 007 First Light couldn’t launch on Switch 2 alongside PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, but it’s still set to be released on the format before the end of the year, letting more players in on the action. And for those that have picked up the title there’s still a lot to look forward to. The PC version of the game is yet to receive a Path Tracing upgrade, for example, and New Game+ is also in the works. Throw in new TacSim challenges and upgrades, it looks like 007 First Light will keep Bond fans entertained for some time.
