Give your cat the Solid Snake treatment with Konami’s official Metal Gear Solid cat boxes
Think Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake is sneaky? He’s an elephant compared to your average cat, which is likely why Konami has chosen to create a range of MGS-themed cat boxes. These boxes, based on the cardboard boxes Snake regularly conceals himself in, even have a scratch pad to help save your furniture from your feline’s assault.
That’s not all. As spotted by Polygon, Konami has also created a range of plush toys and cat toys, which are sure to delight MGS fans and mildly amuse their pets. However, if you’re looking to get hold of these cat-friendly goodies, there’s a catch.
All of this Metal Gear Solid moggie merch will only be available for two days. Why two days? Because Konami has made this merchandise for CatCon 2026, a cat-themed convention that, based in Pasadena, California, takes place on October 10th and 11th. You don’t actually have to travel to Pasadena to pick up the merch, it’ll also be available at OKS Gear while the convention is underway, but beyond that it’ll be gone (or on eBay for silly prices).

I’m unsure how durable the boxes will be when subjected to continuous cat attention. Cardboard isn’t exactly stain resistant, either. But if you’re a cat-owning Metal Gear Solid fan who wants their moggy to live like Solid Snake, we wish you luck.
