Out later this year, Book Nook lets you create beautiful dioramas

Surely you’ve seen the wooden book nook dioramas that are all the rage lately? By popping out pre-cut pieces of MDF or thick cardboard, you slot them all together to create a beautiful diorama, designed to slot between your books on your bookshelf. Book Nook, an upcoming game from Malapata Studio, lets you go through the process in video game form.
Coming to Switch, Switch 2 and Steam, Book Nook is a detail-oriented puzzle game that’s designed to be relaxing and peaceful. You’ll slot the pieces together required to create a book nook, adding furniture, cute little features and layers of detail. With each completed diorama, you’ll unlock memories, with the game telling a story over time.
Book Nook prides itself in having no timers and no pressure. Malapata Studio wants this to be a ‘zen’ experience, with players being able to take their time and simply enjoy the process. Just like putting together a real book nook, the design will reveal itself as you progress, sort of like putting together a three-dimensional jigsaw puzzle.
If you like the sound of it, there’s a free demo available now on Steam. There’s no release date so far, but it’s coming “soon” and we’ll be keeping a close eye on further announcements.
