With a sequel on the way, the superb Road 96 is less than £4 on PlayStation

Want a cozy, wholesome road trip? Road 96 is not that game. Instead, it’s an engaging and often harrowing outing where, playing as one of several teenagers, you struggle to escape a despotic regime. Now, with a sequel announced at THQ Nordic Showcase 2026, you can pick up Road 96 for just £3.99 on PlayStation 4 and 5.
Reviewing Road 96, we called it “…a moving, thought-provoking adventure that’s filled with obscure moments, dark comedy and characters you won’t forget in a hurry.” I know I won’t forget getting my first character killed and the second taken away in a police van, but practice makes perfect.
Over on the PlayStation Store, you can get Road 96 for £3.99 (down from £15.99) or buy Road 96 and its more linear Mile 0 for £5.49. It’s an absolute steal at that price. You’ll have to hurry, though, the deal ends this August 12th.
As for the sequel, developer Digixart has put out a brief teaser trailer, which you can watch above. “This might feel familiar to some of you. After all, some roads never really end,” reads the description, plus there’s a hard-to-overlook 96 on the CB display.
THQ Nordic and Digixart have since confirmed the as-yet-unnamed game will be set in the Road 96 universe, but we’ll have to wait for more details. In the meantime, Road 96 and its prequel will bring you up to speed with this hitchhiking-heavy world.
