Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny Collector's Edition is a real treat for TTRPG fans

If you regularly play tabletop RPGs, I advise you to seek out the Collector’s Edition of Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny. Despite being a game aimed at kids, this special edition is surprisingly well-made, and comes with accessories that are going to absolutely level up your TTRPG sessions.

The Collector’s Edition contains a copy of the game, a sheet of stickers, a small poster and a set of collectible cards — the usual gubbins that you’d expect. But what really takes this edition to the next level is the included wooden dice tray. Beautifully crafted, this wooden tray is perfect for rolling dice in (a set of dice is also included). It’s lined with green felt with Spongebob emblazoned on it, and it features a compartment where dice and other small game pieces can be stored.

It looks fantastic, and I’m genuinely impressed with the quality of it. This doesn’t feel like a cheap piece of tat; it feels like a quality crafted dice tray that you’d be proud to bring out during any gameplay session. I don’t play a whole lot of tabletop games myself, but now I own this beautiful tray, it’s making me wish I did.

Along with the tray, there’s a set of crystal dice in various shapes and sizes. There’s a high-quality pouch to store the dice in too, giving you everything you need to play a huge number of tabletop games. It’s a shame the included poster isn’t bigger, but it’s a pleasant piece of art for any fan of the game.

It helps that Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny is a great little adventure, too. While it may be targeted at younger players, it’s great fun for adult fans of action RPGS, and getting to play as (and fight against) some of your favourite Nicktoon characters is a real treat. Spongebob dressed as a knight will never get old, and I won’t forget fighting against Angelica from the Rugrats any time soon.

In my review, I said: “I went into Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny not expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I got. This is a great-looking game with solid voice acting, a fun story, and short but engaging levels to play through. It’s an ideal way to introduce younger players to the ARPG genre — and even if you are a seasoned Diablo player, you’ll likely get a kick out of this fun-filled adventure.”

Combine that with the goodies in the Collector’s Edition, then, and you have something rather excellent indeed. You can watch the full unboxing of the Nicktoons & the Dice of Destiny Collector’s Edition below, and just know if you’re planning to pick this up, you’re in for a treat.
