A free Christmas level is available in Escape Simulator 2

Ho ho ho! Pine Studio, the team behind the excellent Escape Simulator 2, has a wonderful free gift for anyone who owns the game: a Holiday Update is available now, adding a special Christmas-themed escape room to the game.

For fans of the festive season, it’s a very nice little treat. Set in a modern house all decorated for Christmas, you’ll need to hunt down clues, crack codes and more in order to find your way out. Although why you’d want to find your way out of such a festive wonderful is beyond me.

Pine Studio says the update is inspired by classic holiday movies, including the likes of Home Alone. That fact alond is surely enough reason to jump in and play.

For Escape Simulator 2 players who enjoy making their own levels, there’s also a bunch of Christmas props added to the editor. Why stop at simply playing the official holiday level when you can make your own?

If you’re yet to jump into Escape Simulator 2, now’s the time. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with the game when it launched back in October, calling it “brilliantly designed and filled with clever, challenging puzzles” in our review.

This Holiday Update joins the 12 already existing levels of the game, offering escape puzzles across distinct environments which are either Dracula-themed, space-age or pirate-inspired.
