Platypus Reclayed gets free Winter Mission DLC
Released earlier this year, Platypus Reclayed is a remastered and enhanced version of a cult classic side-scrolling shooter. If you’re a fan of the original, chances are you’ve already picked it up and have been having more fun than ever thanks to its moreish gameplay and outlandish weapons. But if not, there’s now something to make it even more enticing: winter-themed DLC.
Today, Sheffield-based developer Claymatic Games has released Winter Mission, the second free expansion for Platypus Reclayed. Winter Mission adds a new stage to the game which requires players to battle their way through iceberg-laden seas and snow-covered wilderness. And of course, there’s a boss waiting for them at the end, too, one which looks suspiciously like a vegetable.
The Winter Mission is available right now for the PlayStation, Switch and PC versions of Platypus Reclayed, with the Xbox version to follow. On PlayStation, the belated Spooky Season DLC also arrives today, adding yet another stage, and will make its way to Switch and Xbox soon. In any case, you can’t grumble with free, especially considering the game’s very reasonable price.
There’s yet more goods news for some as well, as Platypus Reclayed is on sale via various storefronts. On PC, there’s 25% off on both Steam and the Humble Store until 5th January. On the Switch eShop there’s 25% off until 11th January. And on Xbox there’ll be 25% off between 23rd-29th December for Game Pass subscribers.
