Announced earlier this year, a side-scrolling beat ’em up set in the world of The Walking Dead certainly wasn’t on our cards. As fans of the comic-turned-TV series, we’ll take it, though. Developed by Odaclick Game Studio, which also put together 2024’s The Karate Kid: Street Rumble, it promises to offer a new way to combat the undead hordes while playing as iconic characters such as Rick Grimes, Michonne and Daryl Dixon. And now we have a release date for the title.

Publisher Trailmark Games and AMC Global Media have revealed that The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival will launch across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, Switch 2 and PC on 18th September. What’s more, two versions will be available: a standard edition priced at £16.99/$19.99, and a deluxe edition priced at £24.99/$29.99. Bundling up the base game along with the Arcade Apocalypse Pack, the deluxe edition will feature an exclusive Endless Survival mode as well as bonus weapon skins and a premium Rick skin.

Unlike most side-scrolling beat ’em ups, it appears that The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival will be a strictly single-player affair. With a story based on the All Out War arc of The Walking Dead, you’ll not only be fighting off hordes of walkers as you progress through its stages, but also members of the Saviors. Thankfully you’ll have plenty of weapons at your disposal, as well as devastating combos and special abilities.
