Coming to PC and consoles next year, The Orphaned House is an atmospheric first-person puzzle adventure

When it dropped into my inbox last week mentioning “environmental storytelling” and “intricate puzzles”, I knew that The Orphaned House was going to be for me. Newly announced from Vancouver-based developer Charm Games, this first-person puzzle adventure is set to launch on PC and consoles in 2027, and I can’t wait to find out more.
The Orphaned House tasks you with exploring the titular house, going from room to room and discovering secrets along the way. This is a game where your own curiosity pays off, with you needing to truly dig around to find the answers you need.
Charm Games is emphasising a focus on immersion, with puzzles that are deeply woven into the experience of the game. Visual storytelling is also a key part of the experience, with players who pay more attention to the small details likely to get more out of playing than those who simply rush through.
Beautiful visuals and a richly imagined environment make The Orphaned House a very intriguing prospect indeed. You can get a taste of what to expect in the trailer below. Charm Games has announced that a demo will be coming to Steam at some point before the end of the year, but we’ll have to wait a while before a full release date is announced. I’m all in, though, and I can’t wait to find out more.
