Yooka-Laylee, the aptly-named spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie received its first full trailer today… and boy, does it look fun!
Yooka-Laylee is another game that exists solely thanks to Kickstarter after its succesful funding in only 38 minutes and comes from Playtonic Games. Playtonic consists of many key members of development studio Rare who created and developed Banjo-Kazooie alongside Donkey Kong Country. The lead programmer, voice actors, main character and environmental artist as well as composer from Banjo-Kazooie all return.
The game itself looks to be charming, colourful and very fun and hopes to return back to the classic platforming days of old much like this year’s Ratchet & Clank. If Playtonic manage to create another classic platformer as good as Ratchet & Clank it’ll be a good day for Banjo-Kazooie fans.
Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
