Free Game Friday: Conceptis Puzzles

Not only is Friday a day to celebrate the oncoming weekend, get a takeaway and go out for a couple of bevvies with your friends and family, for us here at GameSpew it’s time for #FreeGameFriday. That’s right Spewers; it’s the best day of the week.

Rather an entire website than a game is the focus of this week’s Free Game Friday. Fans of puzzles, I’d like to draw your attention to a little website known as conceptispuzzles.com. Prepare to have all of your free time sunken into a black hole, and your work internet usage blocked as you can’t drag yourself away from its lure…

Conceptis is a hub filled with a range of picture and number-based logic puzzles, many of which are based on traditional Japanese puzzle types. There are 18 types of puzzles available across the website, including the ever-popular Sudoku and Pic-a-Pix (or Hanji), as well plenty of other equally – or moreso – addictive brain wranglers.

The downside is that not everything on the website is free. Each puzzle type has a small bank of puzzles that are always free, and every week, the site is updated with a roster of new puzzles, with at least one free one of each type. That’s at least 18 free puzzles every week, which isn’t bad going.

You can create an account to log in and play, so your progress against each puzzle is saved on the server – so if you don’t have time to finish your epic brainteaser, you can leave it right where you are and pick it up again on any other computer later.

If you’re a fan of these types of puzzles, then Conceptis is one of the best places to find them online. I’ve been an avid visitor for a few years now, and it always pulls me back in, damnit! The interface is brilliantly responsive, with it never feeling like a clunky in-browser experience.

If you do check Conceptis out, let us know what you think in the comments below. Until next time, folks!

Head on over to Conceptis now to stick your teeth into some epic Japanese puzzle types!
