Battlefield 1’s Open Beta ends on September 8

According to an EA Poland press release Battlefield 1’s upcoming open beta will last from August 31st until September 8th. This gives players over a week to try out DICE’s highly anticipated World War 1 shooter. The beta will be the first and only opportunity for the public to try out Battlefield 1.

If you are signed up to the Battlefield Insider program (and did so before August 21) you should receive Early Access to the beta. Although from the press release it looks like the Early Access is only for a single day.

During the beta, players will be able to select from the franchise’s most popular modes, Conquest or Rush, on the Sinai Desert map. The map has the expected maximum of 64 players for all platforms on Conquest. The Sinai Desert map also gives players a chance to try out many of the new features available in Battlefield 1. The often-featured-in-trailers armoured train and rideable horses are both playable here and there is three new elite classes to play as. The three elites include the Sentry, Flame Trooper and Tank Hunter as well as the base Assault, Support, Medic, Scout, Pilot and Tanker classes.

According to another small leak yesterday, the expected file size for the Battlefield 1 Open Beta is expected to be around 6.2GB – at least for Xbox One.

While the leaked end date for the Beta is expected to be correct this is still not confirmed. We will update this story with any further information.
