Fallout 4 Vacationing in Nuka-World Trailer

Fallout 4’s final DLC, Nuka-World, releases tomorrow on all platforms and Bethesda have released a trailer explaining what to expect. The expansion takes place in an overrun amusement park populated by raiders and monsters. Bethesda are however spinning up the usual Fallout 4 formula and allowing players to become “Overboss” of one of the three raider factions.

The park itself has six main zones and size-wise is “just a little bit smaller than Far Harbor.” From Safari’s to Wild West zones to the Kiddie Kingdom players will have to clear the areas of monsters as boss of one of the three available factions. Factions include The Pack, a bunch of deranged tribal lunatics, The Operators, a slightly more classy option and The Disciples who are… slightly less insane but still insane.

Overall Nuka-World is taking itself a lot less seriously. From colourful armours to paddle-ball weapons Bethesda are trying to make Fallout 4’s final outing it’s most memorable (considering most of the previous were Workshop packs that won’t be too difficult).

And while more nonsensical, Nuka-World does look more of the same – from a mechanical standpoint. From what can be heard in the trailer, you immediately become Overboss of a raider faction with little to no work (General of the Minutemen flashbacks?). There also seems to be little in the way of actual quests available as the whole park is overrun by monsters, making Nuka-World, much like Fallout 4, a large combat-fest.

Whether this sounds fun to you – I’ll freely admit I want to kill something with an electric paddle-ball – I would also like to take the time to remind players on Playstation 4 the state of Far Harbour’s release and to possibly hold off until reports about the DLC’s performance are in.

Fallout 4: Nuka-World releases tomorrow as part of the season pass or for £14.99 separately. The DLC unlocks at 1 a.m. BST.
