Watch Dogs 2 releases next month and it’s hoping to fix the major problems of its predecessor. Most importantly, the open-world hackathon actually has dogs in it this time.
The new trailer, entitled “Welcome to San Francisco”, shows off the world that protagonist Marcus calls his playground. “I can hack anyone, I can hack anything,” says Marcus, as he destroys numerous cars and messes up a car park for no obvious reason. But of course, open-worlds are for having fun, so why not destroy a car park.
Thankfully Watch Dogs 2 seems to be taking itself less seriously this time around and is more focused on giving players things to do – and making them more fun to do. Although as we have all seen – at least if we’ve been watching the new Black Mirror season – technology isn’t always perfect. “Tech is power, and with power comes corruption.”
Watch Dogs 2 releases November 15 for PS4 and Xbox One. The PC release is delayed until November 29 to “make sure it’s perfect at launch”.
Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
