Q-Games’ “action, simulation, strategy, social-gaming” communist-parody thing is now free to all Playstation 4 players today. Since September 6, The Tomorrow Children has only been available to people who purchased the Founder’s Pack as a sort of “Early Access” period.
Now the game is open to all and as you can tell, is a little hard to pin down exactly what it is. Basically, you play as a small doll-child in a strange neo-soviet world and as you can imagine; communism is all the rage. In a vast world inhabited with other players you explore and gather materials needed to craft. These materials are then used to build things such as defenses, shops and apartments in a town which multiple players inhabit.
Back when it released in September, it received mixed reviews as players found the general gameplay tedious and boring and towns were often littered with players griefing. Opening the game up to absolutely anyone could make the problem worse but it may very well deserve to be tried for the concept alone.
Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
