The Behemoth’s Pit People coming to Early Access in 2017

The Behemoth, who developed such titles as Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater, will be releasing their next title in Early Access on January 13, 2017. The game, Pit People, will be simultaneously releasing on the Xbox One Game Preview program on the same date.

If you haven’t had a chance to try Pit People during its various beta’s, don’t worry, it is wonderful. As always with a brand new game, The Behemoth are administering their expected style, humour and absurdity to a new genre. This time, the team takes on turn-based strategy games but made incredibly accessible thanks to The Behemoth’s trademark charm.

So why release in Early Access? Dan Paladin goes into more detail over on The Behemoth’s blog: “We feel that Pit People is at a point where we’ll confidently say there’s more than enough fun, content, variety, value and play-time to keep someone happy.”

As time goes on, “We’ll be continuing development throughout Early Access which means things like more quests, collectible items, story missions, world maps.”

Those who want to partake in the earlier festivities will also get the game at a cheaper cost. Whereas the full game will release at $20, Early Access buyers can get it for $15. Overall, Pit People is expected to stay in Early Access “no longer than a year, but longer than a few months.”
