The Obsidian Entertainment Twitter account has been teasing something over the past week – along with the slow release of numbers attached. From the content, it is undoubtedly a sequel to 2015’s Pillars of Eternity. And, having a closer look at the numbers, it looks like an announcement is coming this Thursday, 26 January, 10 A.M. PST.
Ahead of the announcement, Obsidian just released their full documentary on the making of the original, ‘The Road to Eternity.’ It’s certainly a great watch if you are interested in the game or the studio themselves – or game development in general – but at 80-minutes long, you may want to set aside some time.
It features the full details and commentary on the full process of developing the title, from original ideas to crowdsourcing to releasing the product. Those interested in the studio who know some of the more-well-known figures within will be happy to hear from Josh Sawyer and Feargus Urquhart amongst others.
Just two days left until we all return to Eora! Well, get a trailer or something anyway.
Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
