Australian studio Team Cherry have been working on Hollow Knight for over three years, and now, the game is finally ready for release. Taking place in a forgotten city below the isolated village of Dirtmouth, Hollow Knight has you exploring, fighting and jumping through bug-infested ruins.
Set to release on February 24, the full title is set to have over 130 enemies and 30 bosses – as well as a captivating art-style. Just have a look at the trailer below to see the wonderfully-animated – and equally horrifying – creatures you’ll be brawling with.
Team Cherry promises the world of Hallownest is a “beautiful, interconnected, gothic world that is expansive and open.” As with all metroidvania-themed titles, the Hollow Knight will gain new powers and abilities as he continues with his journey – accompanied by a “haunting, intimate score composed by Christopher Larkin that echoes the majesty and sadness of a civilisation brought to ruin.”
Hollow Knight is set to release on Steam, GOG and the Humble Store on February 24 for PC and Mac.
Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
