Here’s Everything you Missed at Xbox E3 2017 Briefing

Xbox One X

We’ve been looking forward to Microsoft’s Xbox conference practically all year. Finally, it’s over and done with, and we’ve got all the details on Scorpio, all the games to look forward to – so many games – and more.

In case you missed it, here’s everything that was announced.

Xbox One Xย – Yup, remember that ‘Scorpio’ thing? It’s got a new name – It’s now Xbox One X. No points for the ingenious name. We’ll have more in-depth details to follow, but in a nutshell, it’ll haveย 6 Teraflops GPU, 12GB GDDR5 memory, and true 4k resolution/textures/assets. All existing games will look better on it, and if you’ve not got a 4k TV, 1080p images will be upscaled thanks to supersampling. It’ll be the smallest Xbox One ever, and it has a ‘liquid cooled vapour chamber’, which just sounds awesome. It’ll be out on November 7th and will cost $499/ยฃ449.

Forza Motorsport 7 – Xbox One X gameplay footage was shown off for the next Forza title, and it looked bloody nice. It’ll be out on October 3rd.

Metro Exodus – 4A Games revealed a new game in the Metro franchise, and it looks just as post-apocalyptic and awesome as ever. It’ll be out at some point next year.

Assassin’s Creed Origins – After all the leaks, Assassin’s Creed Origins is finally a real thing. It looks like Assassin’s Creed, but better than ever. It’s got a better combat system, loot, and it looks absolutely beautiful. It’s coming on October 27th.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds – The battle royale game that’s taken PC gaming by storm is coming to Xbox One exclusively later this year.

Deep Rock Galacticย –ย A brand new game was shown off with a teaser trailer.ย Deep Rock Galacticย looks like a space exploration and battle game that takes you through procedurally-generated space caverns.

State of Decay 2 – Zombies! More zombies! State of Decay 2 looks pretty nice, and it’s coming to Xbox One in spring 2018.

Darwin Project – We apparently don’t have enough survival games at the moment, so here’s another one. Darwin Project looks to be another battle royale-type title, this time with a more cartoony visual. It looks cool, I guess.

Minecraft – Everyone’s favourite block-building game is coming truly cross-platform: no matter what format you’re playing on, you can now play with your friends. There’ll also be a free 4K update for Xbox One X, and something called the ‘Super Duper Graphics Pack’ which makes the game look pretty glorious.

Dragon Ball Fighters Z – It’s Dragon Ball Z fighting action. It’s coming in Early 2018.

Black Desert Online – The PC-only MMO is coming to Xbox One. It looks gorgeous.

The Last Night – In a deluge of trailers where Microsoft barely gave us chance to breathe, a cool cyberpunk-looking adventure was thrown in there. We don’t know a great deal about The Last Night, but it looks cool.

The Artful Escape – We got a quick trailer from Annapurna’s latest game, the Artful Escape. It looks trippy as hell.

Sea of Thieves – We got a good, long look at gameplay from Rare’s upcoming Sea of Thieves. There’s still no release date, but it looks pretty, and for fans of co-op gameplay and pirates, it’s sure to please.

Tacoma – The next game from the creators of Gone Home is coming on August 2nd.

Super Lucky’s Tale – Lucky’s Tale was previously an Oculus Rift-exclusive launch title. It’s a colourful platformer that’s hard not to love. It’s coming to Xbox One, in a non-VR format, on November 7th.

Cuphead – Finally! The indie game everyone’s been talking about forever actually has a release date: September 29th.

Crackdown 3 –ย The only piece of information we needed about Crackdown 3 to be completely sold on it is that it stars Terry Crews. It’s coming out on November 7th, and looks like chaotic, cartoonish fun.

Ashenย – Ashenย is another survival game (yay?), but it looks pretty beautiful. It’s been in production for quite a long time, so it’s good to hear it’s finally nearing release (hopefully).

Life is Strange: Before the Storm – We know there’s a Life is Strange sequel in the works, but Before the Storm is a three-episode prequel. It tells the story of Chloe and Rachel, before Max came on the scene and started messing things up with her time powers and stuff.

Shadow of Warย – We got a good, long look at the upcoming Middle Earth: Shadow of War, with giant orcs and massive battles galore. It looks pretty nice, and it’s incoming on October 10.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps – A sequel to Ori and the Blind Forest has been announced, and of course it’s as gorgeous as you could imagine. There’s no release date yet, but just look at it.

Original Xbox games now backwards compatible – More information will be coming soon, but the first announced game is Crimson Skies.

Lots of games will be getting 4K updates – Everything will look better on Xbox One X, but there’s a big list of games that’ll be getting full 4K updates for free. Some of those include Forza Horizon 3, Gears of War 4, Killer Instinct, Halo Wars 2 and Minecraft.

Anthem – Anthem, which was announced during yesterday’s EA Play, had a full-length gameplay trailer, and it looks bloody brilliant. I don’t want to be hyperbolic, but it may be the nicest looking game we’re yet to see. Those facial animations though!
