FIFA 17 is Getting a Free Weekend

ByJack Bampfield

@EASPORTSFIFA tweeted last night announcing that FIFA 17 will be free to all – and it’s sooner than you think. For a few days, anyway.

This weekend FIFA 17 will be available for free to all players. Its story mode, The Journey, won’t be fully available as fine print states “a portion of The Journey game mode will be accessible during the limited time trial”. But players will have access to “all in-game features” including Ultimate Team and Career Mode.

EA have discussed it in more detail on their the official EA Sports website, with the most relevant information being right at the bottom of the page.

But all you need to know: the trial period will run between 6 p.m. on 24th November (10am PST) and 7.59 a.m. on 28th November (11:59pm, 27th PST).

The video contains those wonderfully awkward appearances by a few players including cover player Marco Reus.

Place your bets on this free weekend being extended a day, as is the way.

For Jack, it all started with the PS1. After years spent playing against AI, video games moved online, so Jack did too. As the industry grew, he followed, treating himself to a diverse array of genres. Now enjoying well-written RPGs the most, he looks for stories he can engross himself in. Unfortunately, they are hard to find in video games. Eventually his love/hate relationship with gaming drew him to write about the industry he is passionate about. When he's not gaming, you'll most likely find Jack watching films.
