6. Super Lucky’s Tale
I’ll be honest: as a game, Super Lucky’s Tale hasn’t quite sold me yet. Having not played the original Oculus Rift version, it didn’t really show me anything gameplay-wise in its E3 trailer that made it stand apart from countless similar titles.
However, on the presentation side, it deserves special mention for making seemingly everything in its world charming and adorable in some way, including earthworms, flatulent garlic, ghosts, and the grim reaper. It’s got the looks; now to hope that it has the moves to back them up.
Super Lucky’s Tale is coming to Xbox One and PC on 7th November.
Sporting a colourful, isometric voxel-based aesthetic, Riverbond looks to include an assortment of foes that are as adorable as they are blocky. With a brief trailer that appears to show off club-wielding pigs, bouncing spider-like creatures with little purple hats, and strange, buck-toothed aliens, there seems to be no shortage of wonderfully varied designs.
If you’re alright with hacking and slashing through hundreds of whimsical critters as they come tottering up to you, this is definitely one to keep an eye on.
Riverbond is coming to PC, Xbox One and PS4 in 2018.
