ARK: Survival Evolved Release Delayed

In their ‘Community Crunch’ developer Studio Wildcard reveal the full release of ARK: Survival Evolved is delayed until August 29th.
After arriving in Early Access over two years ago ARK: Survival Evolved’s original release date moves from August 8th on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Their reasoning for the delay was outlined in the Community Crunch post:
“As of today, ARK has completed its Gold Master and certification for retail release. This process took a little longer than expected and as a result, our release date has been pushed back to August the 29th.”
The DLC map Ragnarok’s console release moved with the release date too to August 29th. The extended time allows further development on Ragnarok and players can “expect a gigantic update, even bigger than we initially thought”. This does come after a recent price hike; early this month ARK: Survival Evolved went to $59.99/£49.99 from $29.99/£22.99 on Steam effectively doubling in price, and that doesn’t include the paid DLC Scorched Earth.
Studio Wildcard will put a lot of focus on the PC version of the game now the console version is gold – most notably the games’ performance. During my time I endured terrible performance in ARK: Survival Evolved, but even with that issue I managed to play 139 hours in a two week span. I’m sure I’ll dive back into it closer to release to look at Ragnarok and hope performance is better.
