It’s time to gather your significant other, best friend, or favourite clan member. Crimson Days are coming to Destiny 2.
Beginning on 13th February and running through 20th February, the Crimson Days event brings the holiday cheer of Valentine’s Day to the world of Destiny 2.
Featuring a new slew of cosmetic rewards for you and your gear, a reimagined Burning Shrine Crucible map, and Crimson Engrams the event focuses on the special 2v2 Clash mode. Outside of that, you can gain rewards via the Leviathan Raid, Nightfall Strike, and the Crimson Days Milestone “Welcome to Crimson Days”.
There is a tonne of new items to get your hands on, and Bungie assures players that leveling up will now grant a Bright Engram and a Crimson Engram, a response to fan feedback from The Dawning. Also, Bungie states players will continue to receive new items until they have them all, without duplicates. We’ll see if that works, given the continuing bug with Xur’s Fated Engrams.
There are some new mechanics with the 2v2 Clash happening in Destiny 2 this week. You can matchmake into the playlist, and the servers will find you a partner. Might want to pick a friend though, as teamwork is essential in this mode. Sticking close to your teammate gives a boost to your ability recharge rates. Drifting away grants your enemies with a waypoint to your location.
There’s no official word on Bungie’s blog, but it’s still to be seen whether the last player on each team will receive the buff from the original Destiny. I personally loved the 2v2 playlist in the previous game, and I’m excited to drop into it again. Hopefully what Bungie has promised will pan out, and players will be rewarded for their time this week. I only wish the event could be a bit longer.
Here’s a brief overview of what there is to get, and how to get it:
- Nightfall completion earns the Flaunting Dance Emote
- Raid or Raid Lair completion earns the Dieselpunk Exotic Ornament for the Wardcliff Coil
- Crucible matches grant a chance to earn the Undeterred Exotic Sparrow
- Milestone “Welcome to Crimson Days” completion earns Fire of the Crimson Days Emblem and Tirastrella Ghost Shell
Here’s a look at all the new stuff:
Hope to see you all out on the battlefield this week! Any additional information you may need about the Crimson Days event in Destiny 2 can be found at Bungie’s blog.
