Until Dawn, and its two PSVR spin-offs, were bloody good games.
You wont need a PlayStation console or PSVR to enjoy Supermassive Games’ next title though, Man of Medan, the first in the developer’s new The Dark Pictures Anthology.
Set for release on PS4, Xbox One and PC next year, Man of Medan very much looks like a spiritual sequel to Until Dawn. It appears to follow a group of friends doing a spot of diving, but in doing so they break the golden rule: don’t mess with things you don’t understand.
Coming across a wreck, they apparently just can’t help themselves. And what happens next? Well, that’s for us to find out. Though suffice to say, it looks like things are going to get terrifying.
Each game in the The Dark Pictures Anthology is going to be designed to be replayable, with branching paths and multiple endings to keep you going back for more. And like Until Dawn, who survives is dependent on your actions.
With Bandai Namco Entertainment publishing the title, Man of Medan has just become one of our most anticipated games of next year. We really did love Until Dawn, and it’s great to see Supermassive Games continuing its unique brand of storytelling. Check out the trailer for The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan below.
