The Six Best Moments in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Our favourite moments in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

There’s so much that makes Jedi: Fallen Order a huge success, and most importantly, it was built on hope. All great rebellions are.Â
Jedi: Fallen Order is the rebellion against paywalls, and multiplayer-only Star Wars games we’ve seen in the recent past. It has (hopefully) set an example for future Star Wars games, because there’s just so many great things to be learned from its approach to the Star Wars universe. Â
Respawn Entertainment’s recent release showcases some of the best traits that the Star Wars franchise is known for. From wielding a lightsaber, to delving deep into the lore of the Force, we’ve picked out the six best moments in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.Â
Be warned: huge spoilers ahead! Spoilers are the path to the Dark side.Â
The AT-AT at KashyyykÂ

Jedi: Fallen Order puts a high focus on platforming skills: scaling areas in each map is an absolute must. But this really stands out in Kashyyyk when Cal gets to climb a moving Imperial Walker. The huge AT-AT Walkers are probably best remembered for their use in the Battle of Hoth, and here the iconic machines can be climbed like never before.Â
It doesn’t even end there either; Cal then takes out the imperials inside and gets to control the AT-AT too. Blasting all enemy forces in the way is an absolute joy, and there’s few chances to cause as much chaos in Jedi: Fallen Order as this. It’s a brilliant moment, and it’s then only added to by the cameo of Saw Gerrera.Â
Escaping Darth VaderÂ

Based in the Inquisitor Headquarters, in the waters of Nur, hides what is perhaps the biggest surprise in Jedi: Fallen Order – Darth Vader. As expected, he is incredibly overpowered and very difficult to fight. But this also makes for one of the best moments in Jedi: Fallen Order. Seeing Vader kill the Second Sister, and then effortlessly use the Force to throw Cere off the platform is incredibly shocking.Â
Instead of duelling against Vader, Cal realises that his only plan of action is to run. This starts a chain of events where Cal has to run through the chaos of the Headquarters to evade Vader’s attacks. The Sith Lord has such a big presence, and Jedi: Fallen Order truly allows the player to see that from another perspective.Â
Witnessing Order 66Â

During one of the flashbacks to his past, Cal witnesses the events of Order 66. He sees his former master, Jaro Topal, get killed by the clone troopers who he once fought alongside. In fact, Cal even sees the moment when Palpatine’s infamous message is sent through, in what is an incredibly eerie moment.Â
What’s even more eerie is seeing Cal walk through the dark corridors populated by clone troopers before the orders are sent. It’s the calm before the storm, and it’s quite the storm. In an intense scene where Cal needs to escape the conflict, the player sees the true impact of Order 66: an event that shapes Cal’s story in Jedi: Fallen Order.Â
Boss fight against the Ninth SisterÂ

The Ninth Sister may not be the most prominent Inquisitor in the program, or even in Jedi: Fallen Order, but they are involved in one of the most epic boss battles. On the planet of Kashyyyk, Cal is attacked by the Ninth Sister, who is one of the most challenging enemies in the game.Â
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order includes brilliant combat mechanics, and the gameplay comes across most effectively during the duels. The fight against the Ninth Sister is a great example of just how tense and how dramatic a lightsaber duel can be, and it’s the first time Cal really tests himself.Â
Escaping the Second SisterÂ

For five years Cal Kestis had hidden his Force powers and history with the Jedi Order. But this came to an abrupt end when Cal’s use of the Force (to save Prauf) is discovered by the Inquisitors. The Second Sister appears, which then forces Cal to use his Jedi powers to escape the Sister.Â
This then begins the elaborate escape that Cal begins: an escape which forces Cal onto a moving transporter, and then leap to safety with the help of Cere and Greez (on the Mantis). Not only is this an adrenaline packed moment, but it’s also the first chance for Cal to show off his lightsaber skills. A fantastic opening to a fantastic game.Â
Finding the kyber crystalÂ

Every Jedi needs to find the right kyber crystal to use for their lightsaber. It’s a rite of passage for every Jedi, and has been for centuries. After Cal’s original lightsaber is destroyed, he travels to the planet of Ilum to find his new kyber crystal. The player then gets the opportunity to choose the colour of their blade.
Not only this, but it unlocks the possibility to use two lightsabers for an incredibly powerful move. But that’s not all: after this, the Empire invades Ilum to find Cal. There are waves and waves of Stormtroopers attacking, all of which that are just ready to be slain with the new lightsaber. It’s a dream come true to design a lightsaber, and having the chance to use it over and over again makes this moment an absolutely amazing moment. Â
