Every time a new building comes along in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, it’s your job to find the perfect location for it. But what if you change your mind? Can you move buildings later on?
Gladly, you’ll be pleased to hear that the answer is yes: you can move and relocate buildings in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Not straight away though; you’ll need to progress through the game a little in order to unlock the ability.
It comes just after the point where your Resident Services changes from a tend to a building. At that point, you’ll be able to visit Resident Services, talk to Tom Nook, and choose “Let’s talk infrastructure”. From there, you can ask to move any building on your island to a new location. So don’t worry if you’re no longer happy with where your museum is, or if your house is suddenly too close to your neighbours.
There’s only one building that cannot be moved, though, and that’s Resident Services itself. Fair enough, I suppose; that building was there before you even arrived on the island.
So your dreams of a perfect island don’t have to be ruined if you placed something wrong. Just wait a few more days until your Resident Services is upgraded, and you can rearrange your buildings in Animal Crossing: New Horizons to your heart’s content.
