Want to catch wasps in Animal Crossing: New Horizons before they have the chance to sting you? Here’s what you need to know.
One of the most despicable things in Animal Crossing: New Horizons are wasps hiding in trees. If you find yourself constantly getting stung or attacked by these horrific beasts, here’s what you do.
You’ll only encounter wasps when you’re shaking or chopping trees. There’s always a chance a wasp’s nest is going to come tumbling out, and with it, a swarm of angry wasps.
When you’re shaking trees, have your bug net in your hand. That means, if a swarm appears, you can quickly turn, thrust your net forward and catch them. You have to make sure you’re stood facing away from the tree though; trying to activate your net otherwise will result in you simply shaking the tree again and definitely getting stuck. You need to act fast – it’s tough to get just right.
You can also try to run to get a little bit of distance between you and the wasps – but they’re fast. One foot wrong, and they’ll likely catch you. But running away from other obstacles might make it easier for you to get a clear swing of your bug net, catching a wasp.
Practice makes perfect when catching wasps. They’re hard to avoid altogether, but it’s worth always trying to catch them, as a wasp sells for 2,500 bells in the shop. I’d just make sure to have a bag of medicine in your inventory ready for when you inevitably do get stung.
