How to Send Letters in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Wondering how to send letters to friends and villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Here’s everything you need to know.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons allows you to send letters not only to your future self, but to other villagers and your real-world friends. But how? It’s easier than you may think.

On your second day playing, the airport opens up. It’s here you need to visit in order to send letters. On the right-hand side of the airport, you’ll see a spinning display filled with postcards. Interact with this in order to send letters.

You’ll be able to choose what kind of stationary to use and you can either type or draw out a message. I sent my favourite villager Tank a letter that said, “I love your horn.” (He’s a rhino) and I sent myself a future letter that read, “Hope things are well and this virus stuff is over with. Hope you didn’t eat all your snacks in two days. – Past Becca.” You can then choose a date in which to send the letter to yourself. I chose six months from now. Why not?

If you’re wanting to send letters to your real-life friends, you’ll first need to speak to the Dodo sat at the desk. You can also attach gifts to these letters, so it’s a great way to send items from your inventory to your pals.

Becca knew that she would be addicted to video games for the rest of her life when she saw the first pixelated zombie shambling across her TV screen while playing Resident Evil 3. She particularly enjoys being scared, laughing until she cries, or just plain crying while experiencing games. When she isn't playing games she loves spoiling her cat Usagi and eating any kind of sushi she can find.
