Nacon has announced that the official video game of the FIA World Rally Championship will return for a ninth instalment, WRC 9, launching this September.
Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on Spetember 3rd (and later to Nintendo Switch), WRC 9 improves on the successful formula of WRC 8 with a more challenging career mode, enhanced realism and a larger amount of content.
The career mode in WRC 8 was a hit with fans, but WRC 9 further upgrades the experience with a wider variety of events, new ways of improving your team, and a stronger link to what real-world championship teams do throughout the year. There have also been a range of gameplay enhancements, with suspensions, braking and mass transfer physics overhauled to provide a more true-to-life and immersive experience.
Nacon has revealed that WRC 9 will also be coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at some point, and that the publisher’s licensing agreement with WRC Promoter will be continuing until 2022, overseeing the development of WRC 10 and WRC 11.
WRC will be coming to the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store) from September 3rd. News about release dates for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X will be coming at a later date.
