The Talos Principle: Reawakened updates the classic philosophical puzzle game with a new chapter and more
Now a decade old, The Talos Principle is undoubtedly one of the best puzzle games ever made. It’s also a must-play if you’re into philosophy, too, with a story that is thought-provoking indeed. And soon the experience is about to get even better. The Talos Principle: Reawakened is a new version of the classic set to be released early next year, and it promises a whole new chapter and more.
More than simply a remaster, The Talos Principle: Reawakened features the original game along with its Road to Gehenna expansion. On top of that, there’s going to be a new chapter called In the Beginning that explores the origins of the simulation that’s central to the game, meaning that fans are definitely going to want to jump into it to find out more.
More importantly, perhaps, thanks to a wealth of new quality of life features, The Talos Principle: Reawakened should be more welcoming to newcomers. Players will now be able to rewind time, making it easier for them to correct mistakes. There’s going to be a new hint system, too, which should ensure that no one remains left out in the cold if they can’t solve one of the game’s many devious puzzles.
Rebuilt entirely in Unreal Engine 5, this new version of The Talos Principle will of course also look and hopefully play better than ever before. The game’s lighting, textures and environmental design are all said to have been lovingly updated to make the game stunning to look at and simply more immersive. There’s no firm release date for The Talos Principle: Reawakened just yet, but as already mentioned it should release sometime early in 2025.
As for formats, it will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The last thing to mention is that it will also include a puzzle editor, allowing to players to create their own worlds and challenges to share with others. And so there’s one thing for sure; The Talos Principle: Reawakened will offer puzzles galore.
