Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition is now available on Switch and Switch 2

Out of nowhere, the Definitive Edition of the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot has been released on both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Developed in partnership with Aspyr, it includes the base game, all of its DLC, and more. So, if you’ve never played this first entry into what’s known as the Survivor trilogy before or fancy playing it on the go, you might want to check it out.
In Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, players take control of a young Lara Croft, seeking out a mysterious island with her friends. She ends up having to deal with more than she bargained for, however, leading to events that make her the hardened explorer and survivor that we know her to be.
In addition to featuring the base game and all of its DLC, it’s somewhat surprising that Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Switch and Switch 2 also features online multiplayer, allowing you to get competitive with others online. It’s the full package, then, which makes it a bargain at just $19.99. Even better, there’s 10% off at launch, and a further 10% off if you already own either Tomb Raider I-III Remastered or Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered on Switch. And these discounts stack, so you could end up with 30% off.
The only question now is: will Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider also make their way to Switch and Switch 2? We hope so. Though we’d also like remastered versions of those titles on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S while we wait for the next Tomb Raider game, whatever that turns out to be. Hopefully we’ll hear more about that soon. Until then, however, perhaps consider picking Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition up on Switch if you fancy a compelling and action-packed adventure.
