Is There a Main Character in Watch Dogs: Legion?

Are you playing or about to pick up Watch Dogs Legion, and are wondering if the game has a main character? Read on.

Watch Dogs: Legion’s big pull is that you can play as one of many, many characters, switching between them as you see fit. But is there a “main” character in the game? One who stands out, perhaps clad in plot armour, as the One True Hero (TM)?

Actually, no. Without spoiling things too much, you’ll stumble across a particularly distinctive character or two, but there’s no one single character who’s marked as the main protagonist. If you’re playing with permadeath turned on, the Watch Dogs: Legion character you’re playing as can die, meaning they’re out of the game for good.

However, since you can customise characters, we suspect that you’ll end up getting attached to one particular character, dressing them up as you see fit and considering them your “main” character.

We ended up sticking with our initial punk girl an awful lot, even when we had many other characters to choose from. After all, tweaking every single character is an awful lot of work and, anyway, we liked her accent.

So, you might get attached to one playable character but there is no single “main” character in Watch Dogs: Legion.
