KartRider: Drift may be free-to-play, but it’s a mighty fine karting game, offering a variety of modes, kart customisation, a selection of excellently-designed tracks to race on and a lot more. No matter what mode you’re playing on, though, one thing is important: getting off the starting line as quickly as possible. And so, we’re here to tell you how to perform a start boost in KartRider: Drift.
The secret to boosting right at the start of a race is accelerating at the right moment. Before starting, a 3, 2, 1 countdown will appear, followed by the word ‘go’. To perform a start boost in KartRider: Drift, you need to press the accelerate button just as the word ‘go’ appears on screen.
That means your timing has to be impeccable. The more you play, however, the better you’ll get at anticipating when the word ‘go’ will appear. And before you know it, you’ll be pulling off a start boost every time. Just make sure you’re not too keen with the accelerate button and refrain from pressing it on the ‘3, 2, 1’.
Nailing a start boost is super important, as having a strong start can shape your whole race. Get a good enough lead early on, and you’ll make it harder for racers at the back to catch you up. Good luck on the track, racer!
