Get Witchaven 1+2, classic ’90s FPSs, for less than £1.50 before they’re gone

Looking for an FPS where you wield an axe instead of an uzi? Then you’ll be happy to hear that Witchaven 1+2, a pair of classic first-person slashers, are both less than £1.50/$1.50 on Steam and GOG right now.
Both see you taking on the forces of even with an array of hand-to-hand and ranged weaponry and, originally released in the ’90s, feature pre-rendered foes that have been turned into 2D pixels. Those enemies include dragons, skeletons, barbarians, half-minotaur creatures and more.
The Witchaven is a little better received than its sequel, sitting at Very Positive on Steam compared to Mostly Positive. However, at £1.08/$1.48 you absolutely can’t go wrong, especially if you’re a fan of old-school FPS action.
Actually, that’s not entirely true, there is one catch. The reason these games are so cheap is that they’re being delisted from Steam in June. And, while GOG hasn’t specifically confirmed it’ll be dropping them too, but it seems likely they’ll follow suit.
Publisher SNEG hasn’t said why the games are being delisted, but it may be that their agreement with whoever holds the rights is about to expire. The games were developed by Capstone Software who also created a range of other Build-engine based games, including William Shatner’s TekWar. However, the company, along with its parent company, was shut down in 1996.
Witchaven 1+2 are available now on Steam and both titles are similarly discounted on GOG. They’ll be delisted from Steam on June 15th.
