Blizzard has announced through their Overwatch Twitter account @PlayOverwatch that the open beta for Overwatch has been extended by a day and will now end on Tuesday, 10 May at 6pm GMT.
They’ve done so in typical Blizzard fashion citing that it was at the request of hero Winston:
This means the open beta will run from May 3 (for early access) to May 10. It’s no surprise Blizzard has done this, however, as it has become common practice for betas to be extended an extra day. This is great for me as so far I think I’ve put about 17 hours into the beta across PC and PS4, and I plan to put in more before the new end date of May 10.
It just so happens that GameSpew has done an Overwatch preview of the beta for your reading pleasure. If you haven’t tried the beta yet I highly recommend you try it out.
Overwatch is scheduled to release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on 24 May.
Jack BampfieldFor Jack, it all started with the PS1. After years spent playing against AI, video games moved online, so Jack did too. As the industry grew, he followed, treating himself to a diverse array of genres. Now enjoying well-written RPGs the most, he looks for stories he can engross himself in. Unfortunately, they are hard to find in video games. Eventually his love/hate relationship with gaming drew him to write about the industry he is passionate about. When he's not gaming, you'll most likely find Jack watching films.
