Overwatch Going Free-to-Play on PS4 and Xbox One September 9th-12th
Blizzard Entertainment is giving players on Xbox One and PS4 a chance to play Overwatch for free starting on Sep. 9th-12th. The critically acclaimed, worldwide phenomenon has made waves since its release. If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon yet, try it and see if there’s a seat for you.
Overwatch is on everyone’s radar at this point. If you haven’t played it or heard about it, that’s quite the accomplishment. Coming next weekend, Blizzard is allowing players to try the game for free. All characters, all maps, all game types. It’s hard to find a review or description of the game that doesn’t paint a great picture of it, and for good reason. Overwatch is a polished game with few flaws and addicting game play. It is surprising and charitable that Blizzard is letting everyone try it out, given its amazing reception and huge demand.
You can find all the information you need about the free-to-play weekend here. One important aspect is that Xbox One players will need Xbox Live Gold to play, while Playstation players won’t need Playstation Plus. All progress made will carry over if you decide to purchase the full version. Overwatch is a blast and draws you in with every match. This free-to-play weekend will most likely amp up the discussion/hype around the game, which won’t hurt Blizzard at all.
