Beyond Good & Evil 2 is almost certainly in development

There have been rumours that Beyond Good & Evil may actually be receiving a sequel thanks to some artwork posted by the game’s writer and director, Michel Ancel. Now, thanks to a new Instagram post, Beyond Good & Evil 2 is almost certainly in development – but it will be awhile until we see anything.
Along side a familiar image of an anthropomorphic rhino, Ancel said “Endangered species – now saved – Game in pre-production – Stay tuned!” For fans of the cult classic this is nothing but good news. The game – which Ancel failed to mention the title of – is only in pre-production, meaning that, what could only be Beyond Good & Evil 2 is a long, long way off.
In a statement to Eurogamer, Ubisoft revealed that: “Michel is currently sharing his time between Ubisoft and Wild Sheep studios. The artwork he posted is from the game he’s currently working on at Ubisoft.” Ubisoft also disclosed that they couldn’t share any details on what exactly Ancel was working on but what other series stars anthropomorphised sharks, pigs and rhinos?
If all this talk of a sequel has whetted your appetite to return and play the original, Ubisoft – in a rather “coincidental” move – is offering the original for free next week, as part of the Ubi30 celebration.
