A game that I’m certainly excited for, Planet Coaster, launches tomorrow, so ahead of the game’s release Frontier Developments have revealed its launch trailer.
From any and all pre-release I’ve seen of Planet Coaster, the sheer freedom presented to the player on what to, how to, and where to build is astonishing. The rides, locations, buildings, and even the smallest of details you see in the trailer is all available to players.
This genre (theme park strategy simulation game?) hasn’t had much love over the past few years, but with Planet Coaster, Parkitect, and Rollercoaster Tycoon World all available this year – early access or otherwise – it’s great to see this genre back with a bang.
For Jack, it all started with the PS1. After years spent playing against AI, video games moved online, so Jack did too. As the industry grew, he followed, treating himself to a diverse array of genres. Now enjoying well-written RPGs the most, he looks for stories he can engross himself in. Unfortunately, they are hard to find in video games. Eventually his love/hate relationship with gaming drew him to write about the industry he is passionate about. When he's not gaming, you'll most likely find Jack watching films.
