Holy Crap They Did It: AGDQ 2017 Breaks $2 Million

The runners, the organisers, and the donors prove that the gaming community will never cease to amaze with an incredible AGDQ 2017.
Well… it happened. Everyone involved with AGDQ 2017 pushed all week to hit this goal, and they smashed it. The group over at Games Done Quick helped to put together a fantastic show of speed and skill. Along with some great interviews and commentary, all was done in the name of the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
Right now, with the help of 43,381 donations, AGDQ 2017 has raised $2,216,538.30 for the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The donation page, as of writing this, is still active. That is an incredible achievement, and everyone responsible for helping set up the event, run the event, and push that number should feel great. It was an absolute blast to watch all the runs this past week. From the amazing, to the wacky, to the inspiring, this AGDQ had memorable moments at every turn.
If you missed anything, don’t worry. All the runs have been being consistently uploaded, and as of right now I believe most, if not all by the time this goes up, are live on YouTube for your viewing pleasure. There are great races, fun glitch showcases, and plenty of skill to be seen in these runs. The runs are great to watch, but what really stands out is the effort and generosity of this community. People from all over the world came together for a great cause, and it showed. I hope everyone who watched can agree, that we thank you for such a great week. Thank you to the runners, the organisers, and the donors for shining a light on this community and doing it all for charity. Here’s to doing it all again at SGDQ 2017.
Congratulations to everyone involved with the event. You earned it.
