Destiny 2 Reset Guide: 6th February

Lord Saladin has come and gone. Iron Banner leaves, and the usual reset suspects arrive for the taking.
No fun and exciting changes going on this week, but each passing week gets us closer to ticking off each point of Bungie’s promising roadmap for Destiny 2. For now, though, us Guardians will have to suffice with the offerings at hand.
Powerful Engrams
Guess what? There’s six of them. I know you’re shocked. What’s even crazier is the fact that the methods haven’t changed much at all. Here’s your to-do list for this week:
- Leviathan Raid
- Nightfall Completion
- Call to Arms (Crucible Matches)
- Clan XP via Crucible, Raid, Strikes, and World Activities
- 3 Heroic Strikes
- Flashpoint: Public Events on Io
All done? Good, onward to the Nightfall of the week.
Nightfall Strike
This week it’s ‘A Garden World’, the Strike I seem to play once every time I blink. Here you’ll be tasked with aiding Osiris on Mercury, as you trudge through the Infinite Forest and the beautiful Simulated Past. Side note: the Simulated Past is one of the best environments created to date in either Destiny game. Anyway, your modifiers for this week are as follows:
- Torrent: Abilities recharge at a much higher rate
- Timewarp: Zero Hour: Mission timer cannot extend
At this point, I’ll just say it: we need A LOT more modifiers to keep the interest and variability of these Nightfalls at a high level. Zero Hour is almost a given at this point. Having the modifier for the rotating elemental burns is almost a null point now given how infrequently it arises. Hopefully with the arrival of Heroic Strike modifiers and scoring, we’ll be given a healthy slew of new mods.
This Strike is one of the longer ones, especially if you get caught up in the Infinite Forest sequences. Don’t forget, if you so choose, you can run through those areas and unlock the next section without killing a single enemy, so long as the gate is blue and not red. If you’re a Hunter and have the Orpheus Rig, I highly suggest Nightstalker for the majority of this mission. You’ll find yourself getting an endless supply of tethers, and you’ll make your fireteam happy with those orbs. Pair that crowd control with your devastating Havocs and Nova Bombs and you’ll be golden. Weapon loadouts at this point, honestly, seem redundant. Play to your comforts but remember some situations benefit certain weapons. Having a high RPM, high magazine weapon in one slot is never a bad idea.
That’s all there is this week, Guardians. Not much new and exciting after the weeks of Iron Banner and the Faction Rally. I’m hoping this roadmap for 2018 pans out well. There’s still a community out there behind this game, hoping Bungie can right the wrongs and leave the deception behind. Here’s hoping.
