Destiny 2 Reset Guide: 27th February

The Faction Rally has ended and once again New Monarchy reigns supreme. Visit Executor Hideo in the Tower to get your reward.
This week in Destiny 2, there is a little extra to be found alongside our usual line-up of guests. Update 1.1.3 is now live and brings a host of changes with it. Here’s a quick breakdown of the highlights of the update:
- Nightfall Strike Scoring: Normal and Prestige variants have score tracking. Score earned from enemy kills and orb generation. Beating target value grants Nightfall Aura and Vanguard Token bonus. High scores posted on respective Nightfall Emblems.
- Nightfall Challenge Cards: Drop for DLC owners in the Normal or Prestige Nightfall variant. Allows players to select modifiers for the Prestige Nightfall that affect scoring and gameplay. Extinguish (return to Orbit if Fireteam wipes in respawn restricted areas) is automatically activated upon use of Challenge Card.
- Emblem Variants: New emblems for Crucible, Destinations, and strike-specific Nightfalls. Track things like chests located, Lost Sectors found, highest score, etc.
For the full patch notes, make sure to head over to Bungie’s blog for all the details.
Faction Rally
It is officially Victory Week again for New Monarchy, which means there’s a new Pulse Rifle to be had for everyone. As usual, pledges to New Monarchy get it for cheap but those who didn’t have to fork over 50,000 Glimmer. Here’s the weapon:

Powerful Engrams
Six is the magic number. Here’s the breakdown:
- 3 Heroic Strikes
- Nightfall Completion
- Raid or Raid Lair Completion
- Clan XP via Crucible, World Activities, Strikes, or Raid
- Call to Arms (Crucible Matches)
- Flashpoint: Public Events on Titan
Onward to Mercury for this week’s Nightfall.
Nightfall Strike
It’s time for something a little different this week, as a Cabal Valus stands in your way. With the addition of the Nightfall Challenge Cards, there are no inherent modifiers on the Strike. The challenge that is brought to you this week is of your own creation, so have fun with the new system and shoot for some ridiculous high scores. This strike in general is quite ferocious in terms of enemies, so it’ll be fun the see what kind of modifiers we get to mess around with and what elemental burns best suit us as players.
It’ll be interesting to see how the community responds to these changes with the Nightfall. I for one am excited to try out some really difficult set-ups to really test my mettle. Personally, for this Strike I tend to go with power over crowd control. Also tend to have my trusty shotgun with me and opt for high rate of fire on my weapons and let my Super do the talking.
That’s it for this week! Hope everyone enjoys the New Monarchy celebration and the arrival of Update 1.1.3. Looking forward to seeing how the community responds to these changes along with the rest of the roadmap for Destiny 2 leading up to May.
