Titanfall, the series well known for its movement, guns and... well... titans is getting a mobile card game. It's definitely not what I expected from a Titanfall spin-off game - did we even need a spin-off game?
"Titanfall Frontline" doesn't have too many details on exactly how it plays or when it releases yet but you can be amongst the first to sign up. The game will only be available on Android and iOS which can be taken as both a positive and negative. The positive side is that - and I'm sure Respawn knew this - it won't have to compete with both The Elder Scrolls' and The Witcher's spin-off card games: The Elder Scrolls: Legends and Gwent. That is, at least until they make their way to mobile platforms - we know that Legends' is coming to tablet's eventually.
The negative side is most of everything else. Card games which are exclusive to mobile often are full to the brim with microtransactions and low on strategy - often meaning a short term way to get money. Although I won't be judgemental, and you should never judge a book by its cover, it looks like we will have to wait and see whether Titanfall Frontline is any good.
It does however look like Frontline is being developed by Nexon - alongside Particle City. You may not have heard of Nexon but they are one of the largest mobile developers creating many, many titles you probably haven't of which are, indeed, full of microtransactions. Some of their most known include DomiNations, Monster Squad and Casino Frenzy.
