Mafia 3’s official launch trailer is here

Well here we are, Mafia 3 is releasing tomorrow and signals the beginning of the slew of late-year game releases. Mafia 3 has been one of the most highly anticipated games this year thanks in no small part to a rather great marketing campaign full of spectacular trailers – and the launch trailer is no different.

Mafia 3 has also been receiving attention for its settings, characters and themes. Taking place in fictional 1968 New Orleans, Vietnam-war veteran Lincoln Clay returns home to be greeted by the mafia and the KKK – what’s worse? In a hopefully brilliant move for the AAA industry Mafia 3’s themes aren’t just on guns and explosions but racism and segregation too.

But all things are present in the official launch trailer for the title which aims to show off the world of New Bordeaux in all its beautiful and horrifying fashions.

Mafia 3 is of course releasing for all three major platforms including Playstation 4 and Xbox One but it is the PC version that has been receiving some attention today. There have been reports that the PC version of the game is locked at 30fps but others are saying different. It’s a rather difficult rumour to address as 2K have only began sending out review copies today – one day before release.

Ruaraidh - pronounced Roo-Ree - is a Scottish gamer with the name and games to prove it. He enjoys mostly everything, unless it involves exercise, and much prefers to run around inside a good, open-world RPG, being chased across the lands by a horde of monsters after his sweet loot. When he has made his escape, he will often return to the real world to continue playing anything with a good story - indie or otherwise.
