The Division’s Free 1.8 Update Coming This Fall

The Division

Even though the The Division just got an update, Massive Entertainment are already detailing the free 1.8 Update dubbed “the biggest update for the game so far”.

The Division’s 1.7 update only came out a few weeks ago, but Massive Entertainment aren’t hanging around by revealing the 1.8 free update ‘Resistance’ today. This update will bring two new modes: PvE mode, Resistance, and PvP mode, Skirmish. The map will grow larger with a West Side Pier map expansion spread across two zones. This area will be available for all players and features a new social space for players to gear up and meet up with others. The West Side Pier will be where these two new modes will take place.

The new Resistance PvE mode tasks up to four players to take on waves of enemies from all the factions. New PvP mode Skirmish is a four versus four mode where the team with the highest number of kills wins – just downing them isn’t enough for a point either. So, basically a horde mode, and a team deathmatch.

Ubisoft uploaded a reveal video for this update which you can watch below:

The Resistance update will bring other adjustments including improvements to the Underground DLC and rogue mechanics. Interestingly, it’s mentioned in the blog post for this announcement gear system changes that will allow players to improve stats on items.
