How to Unlock World of Warcraft’s New Allied Races

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth’s pre-purchase includes the ability to unlock new allied races Highmountain Tauren, Nightborne, Lightforged Draenei, and Void Elves.

Luckily, if you’ve been playing the majority of Legion, unlocking them really shouldn’t be very difficult. All that is required is an exalted reputation, and an achievement associated with the allied race in question. Then, doing a quick quest will get you access to each of these races.

The Highmountain Taurens and Nightborne are for the Horde, and the Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves for Alliance.

Reputation

Highmountain Tauren: Exalted with Highmountain Tribe

Nightborne: Exalted with The Nightfallen

Lightforged Draenei: Exalted with Army of the Light

Void Elves: Exalted with Argussian Reach

Achievement

Highmountain Tauren: Ain’t no Mountain High Enough

Nightborne: Insurrection

Lightforged Draenei: You Are Now Prepared!

Void Elves: You Are Now Prepared!

If you’ve done both of these you’ll automatically get a quest to go to Stormwind or Orgrimmar’s new embassies. Each new race has their own five to 15 minute scenario to unlock them, and then enjoy!

Battle for Azeroth is available to pre-purchase now for £39.99 for the standard edition,. It’s set to release “on or before” 21st September.

For Jack, it all started with the PS1. After years spent playing against AI, video games moved online, so Jack did too. As the industry grew, he followed, treating himself to a diverse array of genres. Now enjoying well-written RPGs the most, he looks for stories he can engross himself in. Unfortunately, they are hard to find in video games. Eventually his love/hate relationship with gaming drew him to write about the industry he is passionate about. When he's not gaming, you'll most likely find Jack watching films.
