Holy Shit! The Walking Dead’s Negan is Joining Tekken 7

Negan

Tekken 7 is a bloody good fighting game.

When I reviewed it back in June last year I awarded it a 9/10. Since then, however, its season pass has proved to be a massive disappointment. And where’s that Xbox One X support Bandai Namco? But there’s still a chance for the game to redeem itself with post-release content and support. It’s something that its newly announced Season Pass 2 may possibly do.

Announced at EVO 2018, Tekken 7‘s Season Pass 2 looks set to bring six new characters to the game, three of which have already been announced. Fan favourites Anna Williams and Lei Wulong will both be rejoining the fight, which I’m sure everyone will agree is a good move. It’s the third character that will prove to be divisive though; The Walking Dead‘s Negan.

Honestly, I’m rather excited about Negan joining the fight. And all signs point to it being the Jeffrey Dean Morgan Negan, what with it being a collaboration with AMC and all. How exactly he’ll fit in with the rest of the characters remains to be seen, but I sure do hope I can introduce some of Tekken 7‘s cast to Lucille.

Alongside the new characters, Tekken 7‘s new season will also bring some changes to the game. New features such as wall bounce are set to be introduced, and there’ll be some balance changes to keep the battles tense. There’s still no word on Xbox One X support yet though; Xbox One players will have to live with blur-o-vision for a little while longer it would seem.

The only question now is, who will the other three characters be? It’s a shame that the guest spot has been taken by Negan instead of Yakuza’s Kazuma Kiryu, but I’m hoping that at least one of the other three characters will be totally new. Otherwise, I see Season Pass 2 being a disappointment as well. I guess only time will tell.
