Lair of the Clockwork God Launching with Surprise Prequel

lair of the clockwork god

Indie point-and-click/platformer hybrid Lair of the Clockwork God drops this week along with a bonus visual novel, Devil’s Kiss, which acts as a prequel.

The next title in the Dan and Ben adventure game series from Size Five Games is releasing this week, but it won’t be coming alone. On February 21st, the tiny indie team will be launching both Lair of the Clockwork God and Devil’s Kiss, a prequel visual novel that details how the two protagonists met in high school.

Developer Dan Marshall made the announcement on Twitter yesterday, commenting: “I don’t think it’s any secret that releasing a video game is a very fraught, highly stressful experience, and that only a complete idiot would attempt anything as stupid as launching TWO new video games at the exact same time”. He goes on to reveal that Devil’s Kiss will come free with every copy of Lair of the Clockwork God and will also be available to buy seperately for around $2.

Lair of the Clockwork God follows two pals – one who loves classic point-and-click adventures, and one who wants to be the next indie platformer hero – working together to save the world. Use the two distinct gameplay styles and each character’s unique skills to overcome the string of weird and wacky obstacles that stand in your path.

Both games will be launching on Friday, February 21st. Head over to Steam for more information, or to add Lair of the Clockwork God or Devil’s Kiss to your wishlist.

"Cynical", "sarcastic" and "irritable" are just some of the words that have been used to describe Diggy B, the other words usually being four letters long and incredibly rude. He can normally be found with a controller in his hands and strives to provide acerbic rants on all things gaming, from Gears of War to Candy Crush.
