Surreal First-Person Puzzler Maquette Announced

Graceful Decay and Annapurna Interactive reveal Maquette, a colourful reality-bending puzzle game about love and fitting things together.

Have you ever been to a model village? Have you then noticed that the model village also has a scaled-down model of the model village inside the model village? Did you then wonder if the model model villages just keep getting smaller and smaller into infinity? And WAIT, what if YOU live in a model village and there’s a giant version of you looking down on yourself from the sky?

Or is that just me?

Anyway, that’s the kind of mind-twisting Alice in Wonderland-style logic that Graceful Decay and Annapurna Interactive are going for with their upcoming puzzle game Maquette. The new reveal trailer shows off a surreal Superliminal-style mechanic of dropping small items into a scaled-down model of your environment to make them appear as giant objects in the real world.

But Maquette is also a love story, with the dreamlike and recursive puzzles signifying the life cycle of a loving relationship. Join Kenzie and Michael on their journey of love, loss and acceptance.

We don’t yet know when Maquette will be releasing, but a demo will be playable at PAX East this week at the Annapurna Interactive booth. Check out the reveal trailer below, or head to the game’s official website for more information.
